The Ramrod cigar is produced with dark-fired tobacco from Kentucky and Tennessee. A combination of tobacco and a unique bourbon flavor always creates a unique and superior cigar. Made with 100% tobacco, Ramrod cigars are smooth and always burn evenly. The tobacco chosen is robust, but never harsh.

Once the tobacco is completely cured, Ramrod cigars are then hand-brushed with bourbon flavors. After flavoring, they sit overnight before packaging. Once packaged the cigars are then held within a humidor for a final rest for about 3 months.

Dark Fired tobacco is mostly grown on family farms and the process consists of hanging green tobacco leaves then smoking them over selected hickory logs to cure. Curing dark-fired tobacco is an Art. Weather conditions, location, barn type and how the tobacco is cultured plays a major roll. The curing process is typically broken down into four phases: yellowing, setting color, drying and finishing. Tobacco that is fire-cured is low in sugar and high in nicotine.

Cigar Inspection

Choosing a cigar does not have to be a difficult task, below are a few tips for proper selection.
1. Look for a shine on the wrapper, this shows that the aging process has started.
2. Veins running the length of the cigar is a good thing.
3. Make sure that the wrapper has a consistent look and feel.
4. Don't choose a cigar that has blotches, tears, holes or nicks in the wrapper.
5. You want to make sure that the cigar is soft, not cracking.
*Tip: Rolling the cigar between your fingers will destroy your cigar. All cigars will crackle when you squeeze them. So before selecting your cigar, pinch it slightly near the cap. Your cigar should give slightly and bounce back into place.
